Actress Linda Hamilton (Terminator) offered herself as a consolation date to a Marine, after comedic funny lady Betty White declined his invitation to a military ball.
This is just days after two zealous marines asked “Friends with Benefits” stars Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake to accompany them to their Marine Corps Ball.
Sgt. Ray Lewis invited 90-year-old White to join him at one of the balls, calling her “the all-around perfect woman.” But the Emmy-nominated White, who was “deeply flattered,” was unable to accept as it interfered with her taping schedule for her new sitcom “Hot in Cleveland.”
Hamilton, who played Sarah Connor in the first two “Terminator” movies, posted a YouTube video response in which she says she spent a whole night crying over White turning down Lewis’ invitation.
“Betty called and I talked to her for hours and I know she feels terrible,” Hamilton says in the video. “So I just decided that I would try to reach out to you and say, ‘Look, I know that I am no Betty White, but I would be really, really thrilled if you can’t find anything else, and I know that it’s unlikely, but if you can’t find anybody else to go to the ball with you I could go.'”
Lewis commented on Hamilton’s video with the YouTube account he used to post his Betty White video.
“You are amazing,” he wrote.
