Luna Brings Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, Beatles And More To Life On The Gayageum

Ever heard of the Gayageum? Neither have I. According to Wikipedia, it’s a traditional Korean zither-like string instrument, with 12 strings, though some more recent variants have 21 or other number of strings. It is probably the best known traditional Korean musical instrument.[1] It is related to other Asian instruments, including the Chinese guzheng, the Japanese koto, the Mongolian yatga, and the Vietnamese đàn tranh.

The point is that there’s a woman in Korea by the name of Luna who plays the hell out of it. And while she definitely plays some beautiful traditional Korean music, she has also composed adaptations of music from performers likes The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Guns n Roses, AC/DC, Joe Satriani, Dire Straits, David Bowie, Nirvana, and others.
