Neal Hefti, Composer of Iconic TV’s ‘Batman’ Theme Song Passes Away

Acclaimed composer, arranger and Big Band trumpeter, Neal Hefti passed away last Saturday from “undetermined causes.” He was 85-years-old.

Although Hefti’s work as a composer is synonymous with classic television show such as “The Odd Couple” and films including “Barefoot in the Park,” Hefti is probably best known as the composer behind the iconic theme to the 1960s “Batman” TV series, which became a Top 40 hit and won a Grammy Award in 1966 for best instrumental theme.
