Swedish artist, Pappas Parlor has taken the idea of 8-bit art to the next level. He’s taken the classic sprites of our favorite Nintendo and Sega video games (along with pop culture icons as varied as He-Man and Bob Ross) and given them new life in the real world.
Instead of being stuck in 2-d games, The Super Mario Bros, Teenage Mutant Ninja turtles, Sonic The Hedgehog, Castlevania’s Simon Belmont, and others are all up to new adventures in the lush-real life textures that offer so much more than the 8-bit life they are used to.
Looking at the art of Papas Parlor can’t help but simultaneously make you smile and make you angry at the potential of that god-awful Adam Sandler film, Pixels.
