Miami-based artist and teacher, Peter Santa-Maria (aka Attackpeter) has taken the classic art-form of woodblock printing and combined it with some of our generation’s most popular pop culture icons to create a series of prints that are both classic and modern.

He creates the prints by carving the negative image into a block of wood and then rolling over it with an ink roller and pressing the block into a piece of paper or cloth. The resulting image produces an illustration in the same style that has been used going back to the 7th century in Asia.

Check out some of our favorite works from Attackpeter including prints that pay tribute to Hellboy, Xenomorphs, Godzilla, The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Star Wars, Masters Of The universe, My Neighbor Totoro, and more!
