While Warner Bros has yet to officially announce that the character of Ares is not only in the film, but is probably the movie’s big bad (and Diana’s baby daddy), LEGO is letting the cat out of the bag in a big way.
The new LEGO set that was just announced features Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, Chris Pine’s Steve Trevor, a fighter plane, and what looks like a 30′ tall version of Ares, the god of war. Not only does this confirm that he’s in the movie, but it gives us a good idea of what the climactic battle of the film might be, as well as our first look at how they’ll be adapting Ares to the big screen.
Wonder Woman opens June 2nd and stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Robin Wright, Danny Huston, David Thewlis, Connie Nielsen, Elena Anaya, Ewen Bremner, Lucy Davis, Lisa Loven Kongsli, Eugene Brave Rock, and Saïd Taghmaoui.
Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.
