It looks like we got a late news announcement tonight. Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Kick-Ass, Avengers: Age of Ultron) is heading back to Marvel, but this time he’ll be playing for the bad guys. In a new report from Deadline, it has now been announced that he’ll be playing the lead in an upcoming Spider-Man spin-off film, Kraven The Hunter. This news comes as a little bit of a surprise to fans who have been campaigning for the role to go to Keanu Reeves for the last several months online.
There are currently no details on the storyline, or whether we’ll see him go up against Spider-Man, or even possibly Venom in his first film. All we currently know is that the film is going to be directed by J.C. Chandor, it’s being written by Art Marcum & Matt Holloway and Richard Wenk, and it hits theaters on January 13th, 2023.
As soon as there’s more to tell you, we’ll have it right here.
