It wasn’t long ago that the net was abuzz with speculations that Johnny Lee Miller (Hackers) would play the lead in Frank Darabont’s zombie drama “The Walking Dead.” However, like most rumors, it’s been batted aside as AMC has now officially announced that the lead would instead go to Andrew Lincoln.
Lincoln (Teachers, This Life) will play Rick Grimes, a small-town police officer who becomes the de facto leader of a band of zombie survivors in AMC’s adaption of Robert Kirkman’s zombie drama comic book series.
He will join Jon Bernthal, who will co-star as his fellow officer and best friend, Shane.
“Andrew is an incredibly gifted actor. He has the presence and attitude to bring this character and story to life. We are thrilled that he is joining the cast,” exclaims AMC’s Joel Stillerman.
Superman is currently scheduled for release on July 11, 2025
The new series is set for a two-episode premiere, June 4 on Disney+.
