Just moments ago, the first trailer dropped for Black Adam. The footage is not only packed with action, but it is filled with a lot of familiar faces from the DC comics including Aldis Hodge (“City on a Hill,” “One Night in Miami”) as Hawkman, Noah Centineo (“To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before”) as Atom Smasher, Sarah Shahi (“Sex/Life,” “Rush Hour 3”) as Adrianna, Marwan Kenzari (“Murder on the Orient Express,” “The Mummy”) as Ishmael, Quintessa Swindell (“Voyagers,” “Trinkets”) as Cyclone, Bodhi Sabongui (“A Million Little Things”) as Amon, and Pierce Brosnan (the “Mamma Mia!” and James Bond franchises) as Dr. Fate.

Honestly, the film almost looks like it is setting up Dr. Fate to be the secret villain of the film, but that could easily be a redirect. It’s really interesting to see how quickly WB has placed blood splatter into their as if to scream “this isn’t another MCU movie!”

It’s a great cast, the little bit of footage we’ve seen looks good and appears to be setting up an anti-hero story. That means we can expect to see him eventually go up against Shazam (not in this film) before the two of them eventually team-up to defeat a greater evil. So far, I’m down for it. Black Adam hits theaters on October 21.
