“Zombieland” duo Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese have been brought on board to help bring Hasbro’s much beloved Micronauts toyline to the big screen.
According to Deadline, the duo will pen the feature film for J.J. Abrams and Paramount Pictures. The film is considered a priority project and Paramount had recently made a deal for the project to be produced by Abrams and Bryan Burk and Hasbro’s Goldner and Bennett Schneir.
It seems like Wernick and Reese have been very busy since their debut and had previously worked on the script for “G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation” and “Deadpool.” They are also adapting the graphic novel “Cowboy Ninja Viking” for Disney. With a lot on their plate and so many projects on hand, it makes me wonder if they’re running out of creative juices or how well they are adapting to scripting for multi-national franchises. It’s also worth noting that none of their films beyond “Zombieland” have made it to theaters thus far. Whatever the case, the studios seem to have a lot of faith in them and for now, so should the fans.
