Variety is reporting that Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley have sold their script “Cal of the Wild” to Dreamworks.

The studio has tapped the scribes to pen the script, a comedy that riffs on the reality TV genre, especially such shows as “Survivor.”

Developed internally at DreamWorks, the laffer revolves around Cal Tanner, the fraudulent star of a cable TV survival show, who is forced to keep himself and his female assistant alive when they’re put in an actual survival situation.

This isn’t the first time the two have struck gold with a screenplay. They’ve also sold 3 other films: “The $40,000 Man” and “Burt Wonderstone” and the Scott Rudin-produced “Hours of Fun,” for Disney.

If Daley sounds familiar to you, that’s because you’ve been watching him for years on shows like Freaks and Geeks, Kitchen Confidential, and most recently, Bones where he plays Sweets.
