‘Captain America’ Set To Begin Shooting June 28th

As “Iron Man 2” rolls out in a less than two weeks, Marvel’s heavy hitter “Captain America” is about ready to become a reality. With the cast all set and the story written, Marvel Studios has opened a production office at Shepperton Studios in Surrey, England. Meanwhile Production Weekly reports that “Captain America: The First Avenger” will officially begin filming this summer on June 28th!

Directed by Joe Johnston, Captain America will be an adaptation of Marvel’s iconic flagship character. Chris Evans will star as Steve Rogers AKA Captain America (I still can’t believe this!), and joining him will be Hayley Atwell, Sebastian Stan, Hugo Weaving (Red Skull) and Samuel L. Jackson.

The details of the plot isn’t know, but what we do know is that it will take place during War World II and essentially tell the origins of Captain America through Steve Rogers who volunteers for a super solider experience that transform him into Captain America.

“Captain America: The First Avenger” will hit theaters July 22, 2011 of next year and I cannot wait!
