“G.I. Joe 2” will try to begin filming in spring 2011 with hopes of it possibly hitting theaters in summer of 2012.
Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura to MTV in an interview that “Zombieland” writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are still hard at work polishing the script with hopes of trying to shoot next spring so it’d be ready for a summer 2012 release.
Little is known about the plot of the sequel such as which characters from the original film would return or the overall premise aside from the Joes saving the world yet again from Cobra.
“It would make life a little easier to have a few less life a little easier to have a few less,” says
Bonaventura.
Bonaventura also teases that the sequel may also be in 3D. But the final decision lies with Paramount and the yet-to-be-named director. Bonaventura himself is open to it however.
