We originally reported that Sean Penn was in the talks to join the Francis Lawerence’s adaptation of Sara Gruen’s novel “Water for Elephants,” but talks have apparently died out and Penn will now be replaced by Christoph Waltz.

Waltz made a name for himself with his outstanding performance Quentin Tarantino’s “Inglorious Basterds” as a Nazi general and is also due to receive an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in March. He will join Reese Witherspoon and Robert Pattinson. Waltz will play what is described as a “dangerous paranoid schizophernic animal trainer who is as mean to his wife (Witherspoon) as he is to the circus creatures.”
Meanwhile, Twilight heartthrob Pattinson will play a veterinary medicine student who falls for Witherspoon.

The movie is just getting better and better and with the inclusion of Waltz, it just made my list of must watch films.
