Hannibal was an amazing TV series. Unfortunately, licensing rights didn’t allow it to bring in characters like Clarice Starling or the events of Silence of The Lambs. Now CBS has their own spinoff of the Thomas Harris novels with a story about Starling, set one year after the events of her famous run-in with Lecter.
In the new series, Pretty Little Liars actor Rebecca Breeds play Starling with a supporting cast that includes Kal Penn, Nick Sandow, and Michael Cudlitz. It also appears that the series will be using Buffalo Bill as the reason why agent Starling is being called back into the field, but it is hard to imagine anyone doing as good with that role as Ted Levine.
A new psychological thriller takes you into 1993, a year after the events of “The Silence of the Lambs,” to explore the untold personal story of Clarice Starling. The FBI agent returns to the field to pursue serial murderers and sexual predators while navigating the high-stakes political world of Washington, D.C. Watch the series premiere of Clarice on Thursday, Feb. 11 at 10/9c on CBS and CBS All Access.
