‘Contagion’ Writer In Negotiations To Pen Ridley Scott’s New ‘Blade Runner?’

Circle your head around this one, folks. A new “Blade Runner” is happening, and Warner Bros. is also close to finding its screenwriter with the new up and comer Scott Burns.

According to reports, Burns is in active negotiation with Warner Bros. to helm the project, which was announced last month, that no doubt surprised and shocked the hell out of everyone.

Burns would be an idea fit, as the man is currently on top of his game having written films such as “The Bourne Ultimatum” and the recently released surprising success “Contagion.” He’s fresh and contemporary and would be able to do the Blade Runner futuristic universe justice.

As we previously reported, there’s no word on whether the new “Blade Runner” film will be a sequel or a prequel to the original 1982 film, which was loosely adapted from the Philip K. Dick’s novel, “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep.”

Additionally, no one is sure if Harrison Ford will reprise his role as Richard Deckard. The project is merely in its infancy so we probably won’t know much until the writer gets hired and the script gets done. But in the meantime, we can all sure as hell be excited known that there will be a new “Blade Runner” film in the not to distant future.
