One of the biggest mysteries in the Star Wars universe right now is: Who are Rey’s parents? Fan theories have placed everyone from Luke Skywalker to Emperor Palpatine in that role. With the introduction of the newest Star Wars film, Rogue One, many fans are now theorizing that the movie’s protagonist, Jyn Erso could possibly be Rey’s mom. None other than Rey herself, Daisy Ridley has come out and talked about why that wouldn’t work.
“I mean, I think historically it wouldn’t work, because she is – Darth Vader is there – so she would ultimately be my great-grandma; no, she would be my grandma… I mean it could happen, especially in a galaxy far, far away. “
As to when we’ll find out the answer to the question, Ridley had this to say:
“We will see in a year. Just sit tight on that question.”
