David Hasselhoff Marks Berlin Wall Fall’s 30th Anniversary With Punk Cover Album?!?

Living in the US, it’s hard to remember that David Hasselhoff was more than just a guy running in slow-motion in Baywatch. The multi-talented star is one of the biggest rockstars in Europe and is regarded as something of an icon in Germany. In fact, he famously performed atop the Brandenburg Gate in November of 1989 as the wall came down.

That performance and the amazing light-up jacket that accompanied it are now thirty years old and The Hoff is back to commemorate it with a new album of covers comprised almost entirely of Punk and 80s covers.

The most amazing thing about this new album is not even the songs that he’s performing, it’s who he’s got performing with him on the album.

Some of the songs on the new album include covers of Jesus and Mary Chain’s “Head On”, Echo & the Bunnymen’s “Lips Like Sugar”, and David Bowie’s ‘Heroes. He’s also managed to pull in an impressive assortment of talent to assist on the project like Todd Rundgren, The Stooges’ James Williamson, country legend Charlie Daniels, industrial pioneers Ministry, The Cars’ Elliot Easton, and Flock Of Seagulls.’ Open Your Eyes will be available on Amazon and wherever else you still buy music on September 27, 2019.

Check out The Hoff’s first single from the album, ‘Open Your Eyes’, a cover of the Lords of The New Church song and featuring The Stooges’ James Williamson.
