On the day that they are releasing their grittiest and darkest Disney+ series to date, Disney’s streaming platform has been caught scrubbing some of the blood and violence from scenes in their hit series, Falcon and Winter Soldier. The changes were caught by Thedirect and, while minor, they are annoying.
Disney+ has been doing this since launch with stupid things like Daryl Hannah’s butt in Splash. That movie was fine for kids for three decades, but now it seems we can’t see 2 seconds of cheek without being corrupted.
You can see the changes below, but it definitely makes us wonder what they have in store for Moon Knight, future Marvel shows, and whether they are about to take a scalpel to the recently rereleased netflix series like Punisher and Daredevil. We don’t see that going down very well with fans.
Seriously though… the edit with the metal bar, that’s just bad visual storytelling for the sake of removing less than 2 seconds of violence from a fight scene. You’d figure Disney would have bigger things to worry about right now than this.
