‘Doogie Howser’ Reboot Casts Title Role

Last year, we reported that Disney+ was looking to reboot the Neil Patrick Harris led 80’s comedy, Doogie Howser M.D. Today we are getting our first look at the new Doogie, Peyton Elizabeth Lee.

In the new series, we will follow the exploits of Lahela Doogie Kameāloha, M.D. , a 16-year-old mixed-race girl who juggles a budding medical career and life as a teenager. The series will be set in Hawaii and will focus heavily on how Doogie manages to balance her budding career as a doctor with the social complexities of being a teenager. Along the way she’ll have to deal with her family, including her mother, who happens to be her boss at the hospital, and her father, a local Hawaiian who is struggling to deal with his daughter growing up and becoming a doctor.
