Dreamworks To Adapt Ghost In The Shell

Superherohype is reporting that DreamWorks Pictures has their eye on Ghost in the Shell and they have already hired someone to write the script.

The lucky writer is Laeta Kalogridis (say that one five times fast). If you happen to recognize the name it is because his latest film, Shutter Island is getting ready to hit the big screen.

Avi Arad, Ari Arad and Steven Paul of Seaside Entertainment are attached to produce the 3D live-action film. The story follows the exploits of a member of a covert ops unit of the Japanese National Public Safety Commission that specializes in fighting technology-related crime.

Here’s the Japanese trailer for the original.
