Aintitcool is reporting that the producing team of Orci & Kurtzman are taking on the classic comic character, Doc Savage. The team, consisting of Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman have had a great summer this year with Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and Star Trek. The version they will be producing is written by Shane black, who has written Kiss, Kiss, Bang, Bang and Lethal Weapon.
Black’s plan is to keep the character in his time, the 1930’s and to bring in his “Fabulous Five.”
“Doc Savage” was originally published in American pulp magazines during the 1930s and 1940s. He was created by publisher Henry W. Ralston and editor John L. Nanovic at Street and Smith Publications, with additional material contributed by the series’ main writer, Lester Dent.
