Drew Pearce has been hired to write the adaptation of the Marvel tween superhero series “Runaways.”
Pearce who created a UK superhero comedy series “No Heroics,” is a fantastic choice as teenage superheroes is apparently his forty. He will join director Peter Sollett (Nick and Nora’s Infinite Playlist) helming the adaptation which will begin production later in the fall.
Created by Brian K. Vaughn (Y: The Last Man, Ex Machina), “Runaways” is an award-winning comic book series about a band of teenage superheros who discover that their parents are part of an evil crime group called the Pride. Together they try to foil their parents after discovering their plans to take over the world.
