Michael Bay’s production company Platinum Dunes will produce the new live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film for Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon.
According to Deadline, Platinum Dunes producers Michael Bay, Brad Fuller and Andrew Form will meet with writers in the next few weeks. “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” would be Platinum Dunes’ first non-horror film who are also currently remaking “The Monster Squad,” an adventure Ouija Board movie, and “Heatseekers.”
Arguably “TMNT” will be their biggest franchise and it’s almost safe to say that it will be a pretty dark and gritty film and hopefully similar to the original black and white indie comic book released by Mirage Studios back in 1984.
Since its inception, TMNT has been a pop culture phenomenon. It found tremendous success with its 1987 animated series which lead to three live-action films, various live-action TV series and the more recent TMNT animated series and full featured TMNT CG film.
