The most recent live-action Godzilla film was good, but it was seriously deficient in Kaiju. Godzilla: King of the Monsters is looking to rectify that and then some! The film will center on the battle between Godzilla and King Ghidora, with some interaction from Rodan and Mothra, but the new trailer lays out that there are at least 17 titans currently roaming the planet. We know that one of those is probably King Kong and there is also a big crab Kaiju in the new trailer, but it means the film might still be holding back some pretty big secrets.
The new story follows the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species—thought to be mere myths—rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance.
