Speaking out for the first time regarding the “Ghostbusters 3” debacle, Ernie Hudson who played Winston Zeddermore in the first two “Ghostbuster” films blames co-star Bill Murray for the delay.
In an interview with Movie Mikes, Hudson had this to say:
“Dan and Harold are working on the script. If it happens we will see, but Bill has been the hold up. His definition of good is a little bit different than everybody elses. So we will see, I would love to see it happen. I know the fans have been asking for it … so hopefully.
Bill’s a great guy, he’s kind of quirky but I love him. He’s a guy who is very much into what he’s feeling. I know he really cares about his work, which is probably why there hasn’t been another Ghostbusters as of yet.”
It’s interesting how the delay isn’t due to Murray not wanting to do a “Ghostbusters 3” but rather quality control. While the delay is frustrating to most actors and fans, it may actually be a good thing that can help revitalize the franchise. I will not question Murray’s taste. We should give him much more credit than this. If he thinks “Ghostbusters 3” isn’t up for prime time, who are we to doubt him?
