‘Escape From Pretoria’ – First Trailer Real-Life Prison Break W/ Daniel Radcliffe

Daniel Radcliffe seems to have a mission that when he dies, reporters announce the story with Famed Actor Daniel Radcliffe has passed away, and not Harry Potter is dead. Ever since he wrapped on his childhood wizard franchise, Radcliffe has gone out of his way to pick any role that keeps him from getting typecast. It doesn’t matter if he’s playing an undercover agent posing as a white supremacist in Imperium, or a dead body with magical farts in Swiss Army Man. He seeks out and does an amazing job with nearly every project he tackles.

One of his next films on the docket is the true-life story of an activist in South Africa who was sentenced to 12 years in prison during the Apartheid era in the 1970s. Amazingly, Tim Jenkin, the man Radcliffe is playing, was able to escape the maximum-security Pretoria Prison by building his own key from wood.

Daniel Radcliffe stars as Tim Jenkin – a real life ANC activist who was imprisoned in Africa’s maximum security prison Pretoria in the 1970s during the Apartheid. Along with two imprisoned fellow freedom fighters, played by Daniel Webber and Mark Leonard Winter, Tim escaped on 11th December 1970 using hand-made wooden keys which he crafted whilst incarcerated.
