When the dust settles after Crisis on Infinite Earths ends and The Arrow has its finale, the next generation of The CW’s DC superhero shows will begin to rise. The first big show to get its premier is Stargirl, starring Brec Bassinger as Courtney Whitmore, a high school sophomore dealing who is chosen by the Cosmic Staff to wield power beyond her imagination. Joining her in the series will be Luke Wilson as her stepfather, Amy Smart as her mom and Joel McHale as the Starman, the now-dead hero who used to wield the staff.
It’s impossible to say how the show will be from the first trailer, but it has energy closer to the early seasons of The Flash than it does to darker shows like Arrow. One thing we can definitely tell is that The CW seems more than willing to throw enough money into the show to make sure that the effects look great. Stargirl hits The CW in the Spring of 2020.
