Final Destination Kills Box Office Competition

In an fairly amazing surprise this weekend, a film that was initially slated for a direct to DVD release has taken in over $28 million dollars and wont he weekend box office. “The Final Destination” was considered a long shot for box office success. Many people had pegged the series as done and not worth even bringing another episode to the big screen. How surprised they all were when it tackled Tarantino’s “Inglourious Basterds” who cam in second with $20 million and Rob Zombie’s “Halloween 2” which landed at 3rd with $17.4 million. Rounding out the top five were District 9 with $10.7 million and GI Joe: Rise of Cobra, with $8 million.
