Finn Jones Finds Life After ‘Iron Fist’ As The Son Of A Serial Killer

Finn Jones was just starting to come into his own by the end of season 2 of the Netflix/ Marvel Iron Fist series, but it was too little, too late. All of the Netflix series from Marvel have now been canceled. There is a chance that they will eventually find new life on Hulu or Disney+, the actors involved in the shows have to eat. Luckily for Jones, it looks like he’s landed on his feet over at FOX… which is now owned by his old Marvel bosses at Disney.

Jones has signed on to star in the pilot for a new Fox series called Prodigal Son. He will lead a cast that already includes some pretty impressive talent in Michael Sheen, Bellamy Young, Lou Diamond Phillips, Aurora Perrineau and Frank Harts.

Prodigal Son is described as a fresh take on a crime franchise with a provocative and outrageous lead character and darkly comedic tone. It centers on Malcolm Bright (Jones), who has a gift. He knows how killers think, how their minds work. Why? His father Martin Whitly (Sheen) was one of the worst — a notorious serial killer called “The Surgeon.” That’s why Bright is the best criminal psychologist around; murder is the family business. He will use his twisted genius and razor-sharp instincts as a forensic profiler to help the NYPD solve crimes and stop killers, all while dealing with a manipulative mother (Young), annoyingly normal sister, a homicidal father still looking to bond with his prodigal son and his own constantly evolving neuroses.
