ShockTillYouDrop has published the first image of “Sack” head Jason. Before becoming infamous with his hockey mask, he had sported a, well… burlap sack… with a single eye hole to creep and peep through. And for whatever reason, the creative team behind the new upcoming Friday the 13th are re-introducing this disguise.
According to Brad Fuller of Platinum Dunes, “‘sack head Jason’ dipped in an out of various script drafts. But it was [Damian] Shannon and [Mark] Swift who came up with giving the film that seminal moment where you go from the baghead to the hockey mask.”
“That was something that we all wanted to do in the movie. If we’re going to be true to what we’re doing here, and tell – obviously not a remake of the first movie and it’s not a sequel – key moments from all of the movies, we really wanted to integrate it in our own way.”
Friday the 13th – starring Jared Padalecki, Amanda Righetti, Derek Mears, Danielle Panabaker, Travis Van Winkle and Aaron Yoo – opens in theaters on February 13th.
