Courtesy of Entertainment Weekly, here’s your first look at Paramount’s upcoming fairy tale film “Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters,” starring Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton.
“Witch Hunters” will be an action packed Tarantino-esque reimagined spin on the classic fairy tale that tells the story of Hansel and Gretel abandoned by their parents in the woods and are forced to kill witches in order to first survive and then as a “career.”
According to Arterton, the film is “very, very dark, and bloodthirsty and there’s a lot of cursing.” Meanwhile, Renner describes his version of Hansel as being similar to Han Solo from Star Wars.
Paramount plans to release the first trailer for this modern fairy tale next Thursday. Until then, the image below will just have to do.
