It is always fun to watch Tom Cruise playing characters that aren’t his typical white knight style. It looks like that’s exactly what we are going to get from his new movie, ‘American Made.’ The film tells the story of Barry Seal, as US pilot who is recruited to work for the CIA in the Drug War. The movie is also the latest pairing between cruise and Edge of Tomorrow director, Doug Liman. While the film is looking like it should have a decent amount of action in it, it also looks like Cruise will get to do a little more dramatic acting than he’s had a chance to do in his latest stretch of blockbusters.

Along with Cruise, American Made stars: Domhnall Gleeson, Sarah Wright, E. Roger Mitchell, Jesse Plemons, Lola Kirke, Alejandro Edda, Benito Martinez, Caleb Landry Jones, and Jayma Mays. The film opens September 29th

In Universal Pictures’ American Made, Tom Cruise reunites with his Edge of Tomorrow director, Doug Liman (The Bourne Identity, Mr. and Mrs. Smith), in this international escapade based on the outrageous (and real) exploits of a hustler and pilot unexpectedly recruited by the CIA to run one of the biggest covert operations in U.S. history.
