Everyone is excited about season two of The Walking Dead, but it sounds like we might be in for some bumps in the road when it comes to our favorite zombie apocalypse drama. As you might have noticed, the economy isn’t what it used to be and that means that everyone is tightening their belts, even the studios.
Recently, Frank Darabont, the Director of The Walking Dead sat down with the creators of Sons of Anarchy Boardwalk Empire, Men of a certain age and Shameless to talk about what it’s really like to be a showrunner.
When the discussion turned to budget cuts, Darabont had something pretty troubling to say.
This is what Frank had to say about the budget for season two.
“Creatively I have no complaints thus far,” Darabont says. “But I believe if they do move ahead with what they’re talking about, it will affect the show creatively … in a negative way. Which just strikes me as odd. If you have an asset, why would you punish it?”
