When asked about “Fringe” being renewed for a new season, the show’s star Joshua Jackson didn’t exactly say “no” — however, he also didn’t say “yes” either.

In a recently interview with Entertainment Weekly, Jackson spoke about how “Fringe” is in need of fan support, especially watching it live on Friday night’s telecast.

Here’s what the star had to say:

“We did good when we first moved, but last week we did not have a good week, ratings wise. It is going to take the people that like the show to watch the show and start the campaign and show their support if they want to see us stick around for another season.”

EW followed up by reporting that while “Fringe” has actually been showing gains with the DVR crowd in its move to the current Friday timeslot, not enough fans are actually watching it on Friday nights. With advertisers more concerned about ratings on the actual day of broadcast rather than DVRs (because people can fast forward through commercials), “Fringe” fans should begin to worry and make a better effort to watch it on Fridays in order to support the show from its inevitable cancellation.
