The Super Bowl hasn’t happened yet, but the winner for the most talked about ad has already been crowned. For more than a week now, fans have been buzzing over the movie clips and teasers for a new Crocodile Dundee film called ‘Dundee: The Son of A Legend Returns Home’. the film was said to star Paul Hogan, reprising his original role as Nick Dundee as well as Chris Hemsworth and Danny McBride as his legitimate and illegitimate children, who must come together and save their father when he disappears in the Australian outback.
While it sounds like a joke from the start, the teasers have been oddly endearing, and more and more people went from thinking it was a Super Bowl ad to hoping it might be real. Sadly, it was reported late last week that the ads are a lead up to a Super Bowl spot for the Australian Board of Tourism. However, despite the jig being up, they pushed forward with a full trailer today that features pretty much every Australian to ever become famous in Hollywood (aside from Yahoo Serious). Along with the McBride and Hemsworth, the new trailer features: Hugh Jackman, Margot Robbie, Russell Crowe, Isla Fisher, Ruby Rose, Liam Hemsworth, Jessica Mauboy and Luke Bracey.
It’ll be interesting to see how they tie it all up on Sunday, and who knows, with all the buzz that’s been created, there’s always a tiny little chance that we could actually see this movie some time in the future.
