There’s only two seasons left in HBO’s Game of Thrones, and fans are clamoring for for from the mind of George R.R. Martin. It looks like they won’t have to wait long to get their wish. While most people only know Martin for his ability to kill off favorite characters and get more people in the history of television naked for a single show, he’s actually got a whole other universe and he’s just announced that he’ll be bringing it to television.
Wild Cards is an anthology of super hero stories that Martin has been working on since 1987. It is a unique look at a world with powered individuals that looks at various perspectives, including through the eyes of the heroes and villains.
Admittedly, the high fantasy of George R.R. Martin’s song of Fire and Ice never interested me. It just isn’t my genre. That said, I’m curious enough about Wild Cards that I may have to tuck into these books before they end up on the small screen.
