Marvel’s Netflix Universe has been a real joy for me. It’s the closest the live action comic book adaptions have come to giving me a living comic book experience. Both Daredevil and Jessica Jones were excellent programs. The latter of which is in no small part thanks to Mike Colter as Luke Cage. I’ve been a fan of his since seeing him on CBS’s The Good Wife and I’ve been itching for September so we could finally see him get a chance to really spread his wings with his own show.
Today, Netflix released a new poster for the series featuring Cage in all his bullet proof glory. This is one man you do not want to F’ with.
After a sabotaged experiment leaves him with super strength and unbreakable skin, Luke Cage (Mike Colter) becomes a fugitive trying to rebuild his life in modern day Harlem, New York City. But he is soon pulled out of the shadows and must fight a battle for the heart of his city – forcing him to confront a past he had tried to bury.
Superman is currently scheduled for release on July 11, 2025
The new series is set for a two-episode premiere, June 4 on Disney+.
