Glee Creator To Direct ‘Annie’ Remake With Willow Smith?

I don’t care how well she whips her hair, Willow Smith will never be Annie… and Jaden Smith will never be the Karate Kid. Does anyone else find it weird that Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith named their kids after themselves (remakes!) and then sent them out to make names for themselves starring in remakes?

Word is that Ryan Murphy, the man who created ‘Glee’, is the first in line to direct the remake of Annie, which is set to be the debut film vehicle for Willow ‘I Whip My Hair’ Smith. The film will be produced by big poppa, Will Smith, and Jay-Z.

As someone who grew up in Chorus… no, we didn’t call it glee club, and who remembers the original ‘Annie’ movie, I can only say that I kinda hope this doesn’t happen. It is one thing when you take a play and re-imagine it, but you know they are going to mess with the music here and that’s not cool. I like Jay-Z’s Hard Knock Life, but I don’t want to see it in Annie.

Also, let me take a moment to mention that Willow Smith taking this role just goes to prove that Hollywood has a deep seeded hatred against Gingers.

Here’s a bit from the original. Feel free to follow the bouncing ball and sing along!
