Gareth Edwards is having a great couple of weeks. Not only is his adaptation of Godzilla burning up the box office and winning a ton of critical acclaim, it has now just been announced that he’ll be helming one of the much talked about Star Wars Spin-off movies.
We don’t know which of the rumored films it will be (Yoda, Boba Fett, or Han Solo), but we know that Gary Whitta (Book of Eli) is writing it and that the release date is set for December 16, 2016. Here’s what Edwards had to say about the announcement:
“Ever since I saw Star Wars I knew exactly what I wanted to do for the rest of my life – join the Rebel Alliance! I could not be more excited & honored to go on this mission with Lucasfilm.”
