When we first heard that Danny McBride (Eastbound and Down) had co-written a new Halloween film, the expectation would not be that we could be seeing one of the most genuinely scary films of the franchise. The new film does the same thing that the upcoming Terminator film is doing… it’s keeping the good films and pretending all the crappy sequels never happened. As a result, we pick up the story 40 years after the events of the first Halloween film. Michael Myers is incarcerated and Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) hasn’t let her guard down in all these years, just in case he managed to escape. Well, guess what happens?
Halloween appropriately opens in theaters on October 19th.
