The trailer for He-Man and the Masters of the Universe dropped this morning from Netflix and it introduces a whole new take on the classic property. The new show, which is definitely aimed at a modern, young audience, puts the focus on Adam and his friends, each of whom will be come a master of a different field ranging from magic to demolition. Now these friends must come together to battle a threat from Adam’s uncle, Keldor, aka Skeletor.
The new series is a radical departure in design and tone from other He-Man shows and that’s a good thing. In fact, it could almost be argued that the show is far enough away from the original source material, that it could have been something completely different but someone decided it would sell better if you re-skinned it to be a He-Man story. Either way, it will be interesting to see how fans take to the new series. We’re pretty excited about the potential.
On the planet of Eternia, a young lost prince discovers the powers of Grayskull and transforms into He-Man, Master of the Universe! The classic battle between He-Man and evil Skeletor rages to new heights as both hero and villain forge new and mighty teams. A new generation of heroes fighting for the fate of us all. In the end, who will become MASTER OF THE UNIVERSE?
