The final trailer for Marvel’s The Eternals dropped this morning and the studio has laid it all out on the table. We now know why the Eternals never interfered during the events of the Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, and we also know why they are stepping up now… to stop the Emergence and to fight off the Deviants. The new trailer gives us our first look at Deviants and our best look yet at the creators of the Eternals, the Celestials.
WIth the movie not set to hit theaters until November 5th, this might be the last trailer… but that just means we’re about to get all the TV spots and movie clips, so don’t worry if you were hoping to see more before the film hits the big screen.
Eternals is going to be an interesting test for Marvel. While this isn’t the first time they’ve based a movie off a set of characters not well known by the general population, Guardians of the Galaxy presented as a fun adventure. However, from the music to the tone of the dialogue among the cast in the trailer, there’s a heaviness that may not be what fans have been looking for at the end of two dumpster fire years.
The Eternals stars Richard Madden as Ikaris, Gemma Chan Sersi, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Salma Hayak as Ajak, Lia McHugh as Sprite, Don Lee as Gilgamesh, Barry Keoghan as Druig, and Angelina Jolie as Thena. Additionally Kit Harrington is set to appear as Dane Whitman, aka The Black Knight.
