Some big news today for fans of Indiana Jones. The fifth film is still on its way with Harrison Ford set to reprise his role as the dashing archeologist one final time. While there has thankfully not been any news of Shia Lebeauf returning as the son of Indiana Jones, we do have new news about a new face and an old face who were just confirmed for the film.

First up is Phoebe Waller-Bridge. She’s just been confirmed to co-star in the film along side Ford. We don’t have any details on her role, but expect rampant fan speculation that they are setting up a gender-swap for future films and she’ll be taking on the mantle. Until then, we just know that she’s the female lead.

Equally large is the news that John Williams is returning to score the film. It was long thought that the composer was pretty much set to retire after working on Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, but the Oscar-award winner will be back to “continue a musical journey which began 40 years ago with Raiders of the Lost Ark.”

Here’s what the film’s director, James Mangold, had to say about the upcoming movie:

“I’m thrilled to be starting a new adventure, collaborating with a dream team of all-time great filmmakers. Steven, Harrison, Kathy, Frank, and John are all artistic heroes of mine. When you add Phoebe, a dazzling actor, brilliant creative voice and the chemistry she will undoubtedly bring to our set, I can’t help but feel as lucky as Indiana Jones himself.”

Indiana Jones 5 is set to roll into theaters July 29, 2022.
