While excitement is growing over the upcoming Han Solo movie from the Star Wars Anthology, there’s a big group of fans would would rather have seen Ewan McGregor come back to the universe for 1-3 films about Obi Wan Kenobi’s time between Revenge of The Sith. McGregor has even come out and said that he’d love to revisit the role and do a film. Now, it looks like we might have our answer as to why it hasn’t made it to Disney’s schedule just yet. EW writer Anthony Breznican, who has close ties with Licasfilm, is spilling the beans on what he’s been hearing on the subject.
“I have heard rumors that the one reason they haven’t moved sooner on Obi-Wan is that they’re not done with Obi-Wan quite yet in the saga films. So I wouldn’t be surprised to see an Obi-Wan [solo film] happen beyond ‘Episode IX’,”
So, if this is true, it means that there’s a good chance we’ll see the force ghost that we heard in Rey’s vision. Then, we might even finally get the movies fans have been waiting for!
