Jennifer Lopez is in talks to star in a remake of the 1987 romantic comedy “Overboard.”
The original starred couple Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn and told the story of a spoiled rich woman who falls off her yacht, loses her memory, and is taken in by a morally challenged carpenter who convinces her that she is his wife and the mother of his obnoxious four children. Yes, voluntary slavery, pure comedy gold!
While “Overboard” was one of my favorite movies growing up, I cringe and a part of my soul dies a little knowing that it’ll be remade for the 21st century. To be fair, I will remain optimistic until I know who’s cast as the contemporary Russell part.
