Paramount Pictures is remaking the 1987 film “The Monster Squad.”

According to Deadline, Rob Cohen, who produced the original, hopes to direct the remake. Cohen will produce with Platinum Dunes partners Michael Bay, Brad Fuller and Andrew Form, and they’re meeting with writers.

Monster Squad was one of the greatest movies from the ’80s about a group of kids who discovered that Dracula strolled into town along with his classic monster buddies such as Frankenstein, The Wolf Man, The Creature and The Mummy. Because adults don’t believe in monsters, it’s up to the band of kids to stop Dracula from finding an amulet that’d give him control of the world.

While the original script was written by Fred Dekker and Shane Black, no one has yet been tasked with writing the remake.

Note to future writer, please include the classic line, “Wolfman has nads!” Thanks. Forever in your debt.
