Earlier this week Hasbro announced during their annual Investor Day conference that director and producer J.J. Abrams (Star Trek, MI:3) is currently working on a Micronauts movie, “Micronauts: They Came From Inner Space” for the toy company.
Hasbro originally announced in 2009 that they were planning on re-introducing the classic toy line, although no new details have surfaced since.
Originally created by the Japanese company Takara in 1974, Micronauts went under the name Microman and was later launched in the US in 1976 with a Marvel comic book series that followed in 1979.
The line of toys consisted of 3.75″ action figures, vehicles, robots, play sets, and accessories which used a universal, five millimeter inter-connective design.
