While Kathleen Kennedy is busily making plans for the future of Stars Wars, Post Episode IX, she’s going to have to make those plans without legendary composer, John Williams. In a new interview with KUSC, Williams had this to say about his future with the franchise:
J.J. Abrams is preparing one now that I will hopefully do next year for him. It will round up the series of nine that will be quite enough for me. Disney will take it further and they will probably continue on to do Star Wars for decades. So I think it’s all good.
While that’s sad news for movie fans all over the world, the good news is that we’ll still have Williams’ hand on two more Star Wars films before he calls it quits. Along with Episode IX, he’s also composing the score for the upcoming spin-off film, ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story.’
