As the Godfather of the Marvel Film universe, Joss Whedon literally has the world resting on his shoulders… at least the world of Marvel superheroes. He’ll have his hand in every major Marvel film project for the next three years and he recently sat down with “24 Hours” to talk about what that will be like and to also give a new bit of info on Avengers 2.
In regards to being the king that oversees all the upcoming Marvel films:
“Very talented people are writing and directing these movies, and what I don’t want to be is the guy they dread, who’s going to come in and say” – here, Whedon affects a pompous British accent – “‘Oh, well I have the power to say change this.’ I’m not that.”
He also gave up this vague but intriguing tidbit about the next film in the Avengers Franchise:
“The creation of the team is not the happy ending,” he said. “It is the beginning of something that is complex and difficult, and now I get to dig a little deeper. And maybe, while I’m digging, just twist that knife. And that’s exciting for me.”
